You need to give more info about your property. What type – retail, office, industrial?? How many square feet? What town, state?
I focus on retail – and as an example, on a 3000 SF retail space, the commission could be 5.5 – 6% of the total lease.

I am wondering whether it would be best to take a commercial real estate broker position in Sacramento or San Francisco? Which market do you think will provide the most opportunities in the long-run? The positions are at the same firm, by the way.

My understanding is you do not need to be licensed to get a CCIM designation, or work in the commercial real estate field. But can anyone point me to a reference, or a place where I can get more information.
